I never thought that I would ever tire of beer, but I think it's happened. I've been listening to the BN for three years now, and my love of craft beer and homebrew has really blossomed in that time. It seemed like I was having a beer four or five nights a week, especially when playing Xbox with friends, trying to beat the DC heat, or just trying new craft beers and homebrew. I'm getting married next weekend and had my bachelor party weekend three weeks ago. The guys took me to RFD in DC, which is an excellent place to get a beer. We drank for 12 hours (didn't get sick, not hungover the next day, a perfect night of drinking) and had a great time. I've had no desire to drink a beer since and have found myself drinking apple cider, chocolate milk, and even tea. It's like I'm 18 again, and I'm only 25 so I remember that time of my life well.
It's not an alcohol thing, I'm actually drinking the Widmer Bros. Prickly Pear Braggot right now (excellent!), and have had a few different hard ciders and wines this week... it's just beer. I'm brewing a couple batches this week, so hopefully by the time they are ready I'll be back to normal. Has this happened to anybody else? I've read the post on not liking Belgians anymore, but this is across the board. Any other suggestions on commercial ciders/braggots/other things to drink until I snap out of this? Any other advice? Is there some sort of unicorn/rainbow power I need to harness to get back into beer?
