For me it's not worth the time and effort (not to mention messing with dangerous chemicals) to try to get that paint off.

Nice Bug- I, too, almost spit on my computer. I love your sense of humor. We should start a Bugeater appreciation thread, it would definitely last longer than JP...

:D

Oh, and I have nothing constructive about removing the silk screen ink. Sorry...

The labels on DogFishHead's bombers come off easily as do all the bottles from New Glarus.

i wonder of oven cleaner would get them off?

It would make a tasty addition to any beer as well, so make sure to spray some inside while you are at it...

Thanks for the suggestion. I soaked some Red Stripe bottles overnight in Star-San. I walked by every few hours and applied some manual persuasion (scrubbed like Hell with a kitchen scrubbie) and just about all of the paint came off. I need to re-soak again, as the Star San was a little weak to begin with, and my sink was a little dirty. I think I'll give up on the Rodenbach (sp?) bottle, but at least I have some clean, matching bottles now!

You can get Muratic Acid at most Lumber stores like Lowe's and Home Depotand even the smaller places like HWI. Considerably cheaper than a pool store. I buy muratic acid for my pool at Lowe's. It is in the paint department.

CLR (Calcium Lime Rust) cleaner will remove painted on lables. I just filled the bottle with water and set it in a glass with about 1.5 of CLR in the bottom. Badda bing badda boom, label gone.
