I entered a Mini Mash Imperial Stout. The next batch of this I make will be an all grain batch, one of the comments about this from all judges was that they could tell it had extract in it.

Go extract late and you won't get those remarks. Make sure you use fresh extract, too, and aerate well and pitch a healthy pitch of yeast.
