A major tenet of any service industry ...

A happy customer will tell 10 friends, an unhappyone will tell 100.

I'm sure management would like to know your experience, BadRock and Vanna. And who knows, maybe you'll get a free dinner/beer out of it!

Completely unexpected experience from them. I went there during GABF this year, they are so hippie, laid back that this sounds like a isolated incidence that I would let the owner know about.

This could also be the the Boulder "exclusiviness" attitude of the hippies there too. I have run into that there "Boulder" as well. If you aren't from boulder or look like you are then get the hell out. The funny thing is, no one is from Boulder. Brancid excluded of course.

My last post on this subject may have been a little harsh, but I was hella drunk when I posted it  I did email them so, hopefully I will hear back something. But the guy behind the bar was honestly YELLING at me for ordering a coconut stout. Badrock gave you guys the short version. It was so bad that people around me started yelling back at him, and it was awful. Then he "dismisses" me, because I was going to just go ahead and order the Belgian dip, but he starts taking orders from people behind me in line! I drove over an hour to get up there, searched for parking, finally make it in, only to not even get my name on a list, and NO BEER! All of this and the only thing I had gotten out of my mouth the whole time I was there was "Can I get a Coconut Stout?" I was too stunned to even say anything. Honestly, I don't think a free meal or a free beer could get me to step foot in there again.

That sucks, I doubt I will go back based on your experience. Of course, Boulder has never been my favorite city anyway. Jail will do that to a guy.

Not even me, BrewBum. I'm from Coos Bay, Oregon. I'm just here going to school.

Really though, it shouldn't keep you all from going back. I know it was a terrible experience, but just wait until it all flushes out with the manager. I know the brewers there and have met the owner a few times and they really are great guys that are very willing to support the homebrew community. Let's just wait and see how everything turns out.

I agree, can't fault them 100% until they are given the opportunity to rectify the situation. We'll keep ya posted.

After emailing the brewery we got a timely response that addressed the service that we received on Friday night. Apparently the bartender was trying to be funny, and I took it to mean that he was being rude to my wife. Never the less they apologized and made us a generous offer to return.

The intentions of this thread were to promote Mountain Sun and Stout Month. I would never discourage patronage from a local brewery. That being said I have edited some of the harshness out of my previous posts.

Bottom line is that we had a problem, it was address and resolved, quickly. For that I am thankful and I really look forward to visiting the brewery again. I would also encourage others to do the same.
