This one may be tough to get outside of Michigan, but it won Gold in the Wold Cup of Beer for best Belgian Tripel.

This beer runs about 10% ABV -- even though they say its more like 8.5 ,,

Dragonmead's signature product! This is the ultimate Belgian style. The very high gravity of this beer is balanced by the smoothness of its finish. Banana and Clove aromas come from the Belgian yeast strain combining with the generous dose of Belgian Candi Sugar. The Saaz hops help to give this beer a balanced bitterness with no noticeable hop aroma. O.G. 1.085, ABV 8.5%

It's all that and more... The banana and clove really come through.. the sweetness is nicely balanced with the SAAZ hops... Hell, my wife who doesn't like beer at all, brought home a growler of it this past Friday night.

If you can find it, pick it up... it's totally rockin!

Final Absolution is quite a beer. The banana and clove are there but faint and are accompanied by apricot and pear esters.

I have yet to have a bad beer from them. Personaly I love Under the Kilt Wee Heavy.

Their Wee Heavy is by far my favorite... However, I did have a couple bad beers... their pumpkin ale was undrinkable and didn't care for their apricot wheat....

Their ring of fire has to be the most interesting beer I've ever tried... loved it.

I have never had those two as I tend to shy away from fruit beer with the exception of lambics.

Talking about this makes me really want to go over there. Its been a long time since I have been.
