The Hop Grenade Taproom & Bottle Shop

Sun Jul 13, 2014 7:14 am

For those of you not cool enou... I mean, not fortunate enough to be able to attend last night's soft opening :P , the place is a home run, IMHO. Clearly no expense was spared and attention was paid to the smallest details. The amazing draught lineup is only slightly outshone by an even longer and more varied bottle list. The interior is comfortable and cool and there are two outdoor seating areas (one of which has a firepit) and the staff are obviously knowledgable beer people. I intend to spend many enjoyable hours here.

Apparently the Heretic CHP is a STOUT with chocolate and hazelnuts? I would have thought that CHP stood for Chocolate Hazelnut PORTER.

Place is awesome! Dont go for the food. Eat somewhere else. The food there is good but its not a full menu . Excellent beer selection both on tap and bottle. Well worth the trip!

If you look at the paper menu in the last pic, the Heretic CHP is identified as a porter. But that's what "soft openings" are for- to work out the bugs.

The food is fine, even pretty good. But they don't have a kitchen, so all you are going to get are appetizers. We had 'em in our two visits this weekend. They plan to work with local restaurants for entree deliveries, so patrons will eventually be able to have meals at The Hop Grenade.

Yup. I do like the digital board, I've often thought that if I had a bar I'd want something similar.

So cool....I think I would just sit there and drink from one keg just to watch the level go down on the digital display. Now for a trip to CA! :bnarmy:
