Also it should be noted that the hop oils from the IPA quite likely had a detrimental effect on your yeast health/viability. From quick estimated math, I'm seeing roughly 66% ADF.

Personally I won't repitch IPA yeast into anything. I would consider repitching APA yeast only if I was under 50 calculated IBU's.

Next time, brew a 1.050 beer (like Tasty APA) first, and then repitch that yeast. I've had similar problems with the BCS Barleywine before I started doing that.

Dirk, do you use the whole yeast cake for that one, or simply wash/rinse your necessary yeast amount before pitching?

Thanks for all the tips. I had concerns using the ipa yeast and will know for next time. I did rinse with sterile water before repitching thinking that would help. I've got brett on order and will try some as my first sour. And carb up the rest. If it is not drinkable i will blend it.

I am having this same problem with a Barleywine i brewed last month. Started at 1.015 and it only got down to 1.052. I think my starter beer was too hoppy. Thank you for all of the good tips.
