Keg pressure check

So I've got a keg of Berliner Weisse that I've been conditioning for a few months now. The thing is, I carbonated with priming sugar, rather than with a CO2 tank. I'd like to avoid any problems in hooking up my tank. What's the best way to hook up to a carbed keg without knowing what the pressure is at?

Secondarily, how can I check the pressure inside the keg in a ghetto fashion without buying a regulator specifically for this purpose?

Why not just purge the CO2 in the tank, then hook up your CO2 line at dispensing pressure?

Without a pressure gauge, I would hook up the liquid line and see how it pours. You could also bleed off a little through the PRV to see how loud the PSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSST is.

Buy a gas disonnect, a 1/4 taper to 1/4 NPT adapter and a pressure gauge. One used to be able to buy this kit assembled and you may still be able to do so.

Why do you want to? purge and connect to CO2 - regulator setting is your new keg pressure.
