The only problem is that it didn't hold pressure over night. The bottle was squishy this morning and when I removed the cap, there was no psssssht sound.

I'm going to crank the nut a bit more and give it another shot, but if you'll notice the bottom of the valve stem is completely smooth and round and I'm having a hard time getting any sort of grip on it to tighten it. I can just turn the nut, but that just causes the entire valve stem to turn.

FWIW I made mine without the black rubber gasket. The sealing surface inside the cap and the plastic of the cap itself seemed to seal up just fine.

so they're all metal and the plastic cap?

I'm not sure I could drill a hole exact enough to do that.

I saw some valve stems on eBay that had nuts on the bottom and the top that might be easier to get a grip on.

At this point though, I have one that audibly leaks and one that doesn't, but won't hold a seal over time and my patience is running out real quick.

I bought the same thing at the local NAPA dealer a couple years ago. Works fine for me. I used the washer on the inside of the cap and it seals great.

awesome. I flipped the one I made around, tightened it back up and stuffed it full of CO2. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks Bug!
