Mini Fridge for a Kegerator

Mon Feb 22, 2010 2:26 pm

Hey guys I am looking to buy my minin fridge for making into a keggerator. Nothing too fancy just want to have enough room for 2 kegs and my CO2 tak (5 lb.) I have been looking and have so far been unable to find one tha measures out to be able to fit everything in (usually too narrow or the mini freezer gets in the way are there specific fridges out on the market that are easily accessible (best buy, home depot, sears, etc) that I could get? I'm looking to spend less than 200 bucks and so far am coming up short.

Any help you guys can provide would be of great help. Thanks and Brew on my brothers!

(edit) are there specific sq. fottage I should be looking for or at least a minimum so I can have a better idea of where to continue my search?

My Oster works well. Two kegs and the CO2 cylinder and holds 38F well. Do not get any with the freezer compartment, and look for 5.0 CUFT or bigger. Take care!

There's no reason the CO2 bottle needs to be inside (though it does get it out of sight). Was does need to be inside is a slops bottle (unless you want to manually empty the drip tray into the sink each day). Even inside the slops get pretty disgusting but they don't leave the room smelling like a frat house on Sunday morning.

That is the only reason the CO2 bottle is inside, get it out of the way and out of sight. Not a functional but more so an aesthetic decision.

Just wanted to let everyone know I went with the Frigidaire, as seen in this post.

http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/frigida ... ion-89013/

Got both Kegs in there by unscrewing the light fixture and taping it in place further back in the fridge which gives plenty of room for the second keg.

I highly recommend it to anyone just starting out having a hard time finding their first mini fridge.
