Thanks whitebread, I am going to pick up some this weekend and give it a try.

Thanks BN army.

If they were free kegs I'd use them for bright tanks, filtering, and maybe a fermentation. For me the hassle of cutting them up wouldn't be worth it but the 30-40 for attachments would be acceptable to be able to the intended posts.

Just a side thought, but the disconnects that have threaded attachments are both 1/4 for ball and pin lock kegs. Mate your gas and beer lines with the the same disconnects and then you won't need to worry about the posts.

I do have a dremel type tool, what kind of blade do I need?

Probably something like this;

The regular duty wheel is pictured. I like the heavy duty ones because they're more robust, but happened to be out of them the day I did this job.

They tend to fail catastrophically, so wear a face shield.

I might not be understanding this, so please excuse, I am not that smart but I am not cutting the posts, I am cutting the socket so I can remove the posts.

Also thanks Charlie now I know what to look for.

I'm cheap and I thought I could use the extra socket that I have.

Not to know your ingenuity but by the time you purchase blades and do the work you have exceeded to cost of the socket, not to mention the one you buy is precision machined so it will probably work better. I build damn near everything, but I think some things are better purchased, it's just not worth the hassle. IMO.

good point BadRock, I never thought that the blades cost as much as they do, from what I found, I will probably suck it up and buy one.
