Correct me if I am wrong but yeah they both have alot of hops but isnt the big difference between the two the body of the beer? I am not drinking the two side by side which is what I need to do to compare them but if my memory serves the pliny is a much fuller body than the hop stupid and that to me is the big difference.

+ 1
I've never actually checked them both out in a hydrometer but ive found hop stoopid to be lighter in body and easier to drink. both super tasty though

And i know what you mean about it being similar to Pliny, I don't think its quite on the same level but the overwhelming hop flavor (without the harshness) certainly is of a similar quality... it sort of weirds me out that they use hop extracts in hop stoopid, but the proof is in the puddin

But I've never seen Pliney bottles for more than 3.65...?

when only one store in Spokane carries it i guess they can charge whatever they want.

Well that makes more sense, $6 is still a hell of a lot cheaper than having a buddy down here buy it and ship it up to you... and as it turns out I lied Pliny's 3.95 at most places in the bay area.

well, my fondness for hop stoopid is fading. i went to the store and bought 7 bombers because i thought it was an amazing beer, but its starting to change. the bitterness is getting extremely harsh. before i could just chug this beer and enjoy the smooth bitterness and the huge hop flavor, but i can barely sip these bottles because the bitterness absolutely dominates everything. did these bottles sit too long, were they treated poorly, did they change the recipe?

well, i drank the 1st bottle of 7 and thought it tasted not as good as i remembered previous bottles tasting. so, i crack into bottle #2 and i cant even finish it, its bitterness is overwhelming. i dumped half of bottle #2. the other five bottles are going back to the store. has this batch been sitting around too long? i used to gulp this beer down.

i took the 5 bottles back to the store and traded them for a 6 pack of oscar blues pale ale, a bomber of southern tier coffee stout and a bomber of rogue hazelnut brown. disappointed in what was my favorite beer as of late. i'm disappointed in you hop stoopid, now go to your room and think about what youve done.

I haven't been able to find hop stoopid for a while so I can't really help.
I love it and usually buy 4 or 5 especially since I can't get them back home.
I did get my hands on "A little something extra" and bought 3 bombers before I had ever tried it based on the army talking it up.
