That my Brotha is by far my favorite CANNED Imperial Stout! I actually bought several 4-packs to shove away in the cellar. We'll see how the can's hold up in 5 or so years.

They just had a special release at the falling rock tap house of some Ten Fidy that was aged in a Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey barrel. I missed the event but I had some at GABF and man was it good!

Okay aging in bottles and kegs I get, but long term in can, hmmmm. That sounds interesting to see how a beer stands up under those conditions.

That's kind of what I thought too. Theoretically they are lined, they have much less head space and a better seal. So I guess time will tell.

And, the canning that I have seen has been capped "on foam" so I think you only have to contend with whether or not there is an actual lining. My vote is that they will hold up just fine, unless 02 was introduced somewhere else in the process.

Possibly one of the best beers currently available in cans, by far. I also had some of the barrel aged version at Whole Foods in Chandler when Dale was in town for a beer tasting. Pretty tasty, although I'm pretty burned out on whiskey/bourbon aged beers after GABF.

Aging cans... that IS interesting. The company I work for actually makes the coatings that line the cans made by several different companies. I know that they say it can easily hold up to having Coke in them for several years. They say that if Coke was put in a can with no lining, it would eat through the can in no time.

Good luck with the experiment!!
