2009 Alaska Beer and Barley Wine Fest

A long time from now I know, but with crappy airfares need to plan ahead. Anyone planning to attend? How have the previous events been? Always wanted to go to Alaska so this seems like a perfect reason. Traveling from CT with a buddy from VA.

I'll fly up there most likely. I went last year and had a awesome time. Lots of good beer flowing from all over the state (and beyond), plus a couple great meaderies.

Buy your tickets early though (they don't usually sell them until December I think). The night tastings sold out for the first time last year and there were huge lines of people waiting outside in the cold (most people used to just buy tickets at the door) as they were letting people in throughout the night based on how many people were inside, people leaving, etc. It was pretty awesome to try Alaskan Smoked Porter from 1995 next to the fresh 2007 batch at the Connoisseur Session as well as Midnight Sun's Oak Aged Imperial Chocolate Pumpkin Porter.

I know Silky and I are still planning to head up there. I hear Sean O is going be there.
Which is pretty sad actually...I have to fly to Anchorage to get a taste of Sean's cans.
