If you like Duvel try St. Bernardus Tripel. Leffe is a great beer too!
Enjoy Great Beer!

I ponied up the cash for a bottle of Duvel last weekend. (at more than $8 a bottle at my store that IS ponying up cash.)
At first I didn't enjoy the beer. I especially didn't enjoy the mess it made of my kitchen when I popped the cork. Then I paired my glass with a good Polish dill pickle and I was quite happy with it. The sour note from the brew went very well with the sour of the pickle! Just a note I wanted to make about my Duvel experience.
Glad I thought of the pickle, but what can I say, I'm a Polak... we cleanse our pallets with horseradish and vinegar lol.
-I like to sanitize so much you'd think I murdered someone in my kitchen.-

It's been my experience that virtually every bottle tastes different. Some of the bottles are great. Some not so much...
I'm always willing to take the bet on it being a great batch of Duvel!

I had a bottle of Duvel that was "aged" in a buddies locker at work for a year. Then he gave it to me. There was some crusty, dried beer around the cork - and when I tasted it - it had a touch of Brett character... it was the best bottle of Duvel I EVER had! I love Duvel - Brett or not. Fantastic beer. Good for "the morning after" too, as Doc has attested to.

I think Duvel is crappy. It is low on flavor, and the flavor is does have is acetaldehyde and fermented sugar.
On Deck:
Cream Ale
Fermenting:
Dusseldorf Altbier
On Tap:
Brown Porter

well I think you are crappy ;)

but on a serious note, i think all beer tastes like fermented sugar, it's pretty much the primary focus of making beer ... fermenting sugar :)
