That is some brewin' pr0n! Nice choice!

I second the heat shield question? Nice and simple idea. A 12"x12" chunk of aluminum flashing on the burner before the kettle goes down is simple and effective.

That stainless shield is used to deflect heat from damaging the thermometer. I never would've thought of it, but it came with the Blichmann brew pot. :D
