Greetings from Norway!

Sat Apr 26, 2008 10:41 pm

Guess I forgot to introduce myself. I live in Norway, the Land of the Midnight Sun and mostly Bland Beer (although Nøgne Ø and Haandbryggeriet re fairly good micros). I have brewed for 16 years, seriously for about 10. With two small kids in the house, two boys, a four-year-old and a baby of 11 months, respectively. brewdays are few and far between at the moment. However, the BN gives me the daily beer fix I need to survive (the actual drinking of beer kind of helps as well...).

Thanks for the awesome mix of technical info and dirty humor!

I'm trying to make it over for Midnight Sun. How is that?

Actually, I live too far south to see the midnight sun, but if you get close enough to the polar circle it never really gets dark anyway. Still, it is well worth the trip if you go far enough north to actually see it. It's really strange, almost a little erie the first time, but wonderful. A good time for trying Nøgne Ø Dark Horizon (16% imperial coffee stout, gold medal recipient at the World Beer Cup this year). When are you coming to Norway?

Ooops my bad. I was thinking of the Midsummer Night party the end of June. Probably next year I'll check it out.
