Hey Dubba_Brew!

What part of the Burgh? Just got back from the annual Christmas family trip to Apollo PA. Came back with 3 cases of Hop Wallop, and a case each of Blasphemy, Double Simcoe, and a case of assorted singles.

Have you been to The Rivertowne Pour House in Monroeville? Fantastic brewpub - in my top 10! Talked to Andrew the brewer - he has the passion. Also, got my bro-law into beer and brewing and we found Ben's home brew store in Tarentum - he has the basics and is a great guy. We also hit Mad Mex, Fat Heads, Red Star, and Sharp Edge. Things sure have changed around there since my first visit in '87 when Genny Cream Ale was the best beer to be had around there.

Cheers!

Thanks for the welcome!

BrewTa2: I'm on the other side of Pittsburgh in Greentree. Hit MadMex, Fat Heads and the Sharp Edge regularly (or at least, try to). I know almost all the places you're talking about. I have family that used to live in Apollo and Vandergrift. My folks live out near Tarentum in the Freeport area. Thanks for the heads-up on the Rivertowne Pour House... I'll have to check it out.

Steelers&Beer: Penn Brewery is so good... it is the best German food I've had since Oktoberfest a few years ago. The beer is so well crafted and they have a microbrewers fest every summer with about 30 east coast breweries. So much fun!! And... don't worry about the painting, but it's too late for the facial hair... come on, it's HOCKEY season now. Gotta grow out the beard for the Pens!!!

Do yourself a favor and go!

I think the other locations don't have the beer selection that the Pour House does, so that's the one you want. Talk to Andrew if you can. I just looked at the other locations - they have a kick ass selection of bottled beer! I was going to say if you don't like Andrew's beer to send me the bill, but you may be goofy so I'll not risk it. :jnj

Oh dude... I'm goofy, but I'm sure I'll still like the beer! The list looks good and the range of styles is impressive for a Pittsburgh brew-pub.
