12 oz. brown, longneck bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a reddish copper color, with a huge sticky white head at first. It quickly faded back to a sticky lacing down the sides of the glass. Aromas are of resinous, grapefruity hops, sweet malts, and a background of yeast. Slight caramel aromas, but not overpowering. Tastes are of hops bits at first, then the malts come into view. Then, the hops bite again as it’s swallowed. Well balanced, the malts and hops aren’t in a battle for dominance, which is more than a welcome change. Malty richness mouthfeel, followed by the classic hops sting. No alcohols discernable in either the aromas or flavors. Finishes somewhat dry, but hoppy. A decent IPA that isn’t over the top. I really enjoyed this beer.
