Hello

Just returned from the Convention in Philly! I was fortunate enough to meet up with some BN members at Saturday's dinner, and I decided to join The Brewing Network myself.

Congratulations on your Award, BTW!

I've been brewing for 3 1/2 years now, some AG, some extract kits (for ease and convenience), and I'm always interested in sharing knowledge, asking and answering questions, and learning anything I can to improve my technique. I finally got the nerve to enter my first competition this February, and was pleased to come in 3rd in the Dark Lager Category! A bit of a surprise, since it was my first attempt at a lager, I wasn't brewing to style initially, and had no idea what my results would be.

I intend to enter again next winter, with an Ordinary Bitter and a German Pils.
The difference between a beer geek and a beer snob is simple: A beer geek cares about the beer he drinks. A beer snob cares about the beer you drink.

Welcome aboard! Entering comps is truly exciting. Glad you enjoyed the NHC. I am still trying to make sense of it all. Probably would've helped if I didn't drink from 11 am to 2 am. everyday... :bnarmy:

Glad people left a positive impression on ya. Hopefully you had a chance to try some of our beers at club night. Philly was badass, what I remember of it anyway.
