Registration is open for UMMO '13.

It's the 12th year for one of the largest, most competitive homebrew comps in the nation. This year's theme is The Dirty Dozen. We'll have an array of 100% brett-fermented beers with a unique new brett strain isolated by Pour Decisions Brewing Company brewer Kris England.

This year's speakers are two titans of homebrewing: Joe Formanek and Steve Piatz.

I forgot to mention that one of the gold medal beers for UMMO 2013, not necessarily the best of show beer, will be chosen by Pour Decisions Brewing Company to be brewed commercially as a special release.

There was of course the typical amount of disdain for the BN exhibited by the other clubs that seems common at events in MN. Apparently the St. Paul guys have an axe to grind... I find it funny that the organizers would choose to promote their event on the BN forums only to turn around and talk smack at the event. Another small bit of advice to the naysayers, when you spend time trash talking someone's club and then turn around and approach them about joining yours, don't be surprised when you're told to go to hell. Your actions reflect poorly on your "real" club.
