Wort chiller, for sure. A glass and a beer would probably help.
Your medals, too.

Midwest Supplies kicked in some stuff for a display and the other brewer that will be there with me is going to hit up NB as well. It's shaping up nicely!

I got my scoresheets and ribbons in today...plus a $50 dollar gift card to Northern Brewer which is awesome and wasn't expecting!

I was a little confused with the score sheets...since the original judges averaged out to be a score 32.5 points...but my overall score for my pale ale was a 48

I e-mailed the organizers and he said that when the beer went to a mini Best of show the scores were compared to how other judges scored and was adjusted...which I found weird...but I am just going to accept the fact I got a 48 point beer ;)

Adjusted scores are pretty common. Confused me too the first time it happened to me. Basically they bumped your score up to be higher than the highest score that went into that mini-BoS. Gratz on the 48 that's freaking awesome!

Did you notice any odd swings in your scores? I had some big gaps in scores between judges on the same beers. Usually they're pretty tight.

Stumbled on Kare11.com and found a clip they posted of Hazmat and Deb Loch at the state fair. http://www.kare11.com/news/statefair/ar ... -beer-tips

My hop grenade shirt fell victim to a tragic Yosemite Samwich nacho cheese (google it) accident earlier that day... Oh well..

It was a fun experience and the KARE folks were pretty cool. The conversation went a little sideways and I'm not too sure how it turned into an extract vs. all grain conversation. Again, oh well.

If you follow the link to the KARE page and scroll down, I did get them to post a link to the Brewing Network!
