Where should I visit while I'm in San Diego?

Thu Dec 29, 2011 6:53 pm

I'll be in San Diego area 1/16-1/21. I'm staying in Carlsbad and will have a rental car the first 2 nights and then will be staying in the gaslamp district the last nights. I'm already planning on going to Stone, Green Flash, and visiting a Pizza Port location. I really want to try Pliny the Elder since I can't get that in Chicago. Where else should I go?

check out the tap room, there's a brazilian bartender that is super fucking hot. she wants me. beer is fine if you like 27 IPA's on tap and a bottle of temptation on the bottle list thats always out of stock. but its a great place to hang out regardless. the bartender at the pizza port in carlsbad was an asshole. it was the day the chargers were playing were the patriots, so if you happen to be the bartender on duty at that location that day and youre reading this thread, youre a fucking dick, dick.

Blind Lady Alehouse is pretty awesome. Great pizza with farmers market ingredients and great beer. No complaints.

Go to O'Brien's if you want Pliny, Tom Nickel, the owner, has some of the best beers in town. Check out his newsletter for updates on what is pouring..... http://obrienspub.net/ontap.php

Or if you want bottles, then check out OB Quik Stop, Clems, or KnB Wine Cellars

Have fun, there are way too many good beer places in SD!!

I second the Clems recommendation. We stopped there in June and dropped a couple hundred bucks. The owner was very helpful and even threw in a free t-shirt.
