acesfull: thanks for the beer it arrived today. sorry if i seem impatient just excited to try some fellow brewers beer. ill let ya know what i think once i crack them open. the schafly was a nice surprise especially since i had beers in their comp this month.

In the four years I've been participating, I don't think I have heard so many variations on the "I haven't got mine yet, so I'm not shipping until I do" theme.

I was just saying that if your going to sign up for this, then do what you said you would do. I have already sent mine, and I have confirmed that it already arrived. I really wasn't complaining, my true intention was to bump Secret Santa thread back to the top to remind people to get on sending their items. I wont "complain" any more.....

There were people saying they would not ship until they received their packages. On the 6th! The day after they got their SS assignment.

I agree that if you sign up you should follow through. Unfortunately, some won't. Hell, Bub organized one and beat up all the participants about shipping on time and forgot to ship his for 6 months.

Wait til New Years Day to start bitching is all I ask. Then bitch once, and move on with your life. As JP likes to say: "It's just beer."

EDIT: I also believe we should call out those folks that didn't ship by posting their names in the forums.

I've been tracking recent posts, and only about a third of the people signed up have posted in this thread to say that they've shipped. I'm sure the actual number is somewhat higher, but be patient. This is a busy time of year for many people, who despite their best intentions may be busy with other things that take priority over shipping beer to someone they have never met. I encourage people to continue to post when you ship/receive packages, but keep any griping to a minimum. If you haven't received anything by January 15th, feel free to PM me and I will follow up with your sender. After all, I know where y'all live.

Hi! Is it too late to sign up?

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing you to request your kind assistance in notifying the members of the Brewing Network Army (hereafter referred to as the BNArmy) that the deadline for Secret Santa 2011 Homebrewed Beer Holiday Gift Exchange (hereafter referred to as Secret Santa) has been set. (The Secret Santa organization committee does not discriminate based on religious affiliation, and alternate names for the program may be used, such as 'Hidden Hanukkah' or 'Cryptic Kwanza'.) After consulting with my co-organizer, Mr. Pythoner, we decide that there was merit in the suggestion of Mr. Bugeater to move the deadline up to reduce conflict between Secret Santa and holiday shipping rush. The deadline will be December 4th, 2011 at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. According to my schedule, this coincides with what will likely be the next live broadcast of your program, the Sunday Session. I would like to petition to have this formal update read during said program. Any members of the BNArmy who wish to take part must have submitted their mailing information to either Mr. Pythoner or myself by this time to be included. Mailing information for Secret Santa will go out the following day, December 5th.

For any individuals who have never shipped before, I would like to refer them back to previous programs within the archive where this topic was covered, and just give them two rules of thumb. First, do not use USPS, and second, make sure each bottle is wrapped well enough that it will not contact any other bottles, and placed within a plastic bag to contain any liquids.
