Lost Duck Brewing Co. in Fort Madison, Iowa

Mon Aug 01, 2011 2:59 pm

I'm in the area on business this week, and I can't get them to answer their phone. I assume this means they've closed, but I can't find anything that says so on the internet. I'm hoping some of my BN bro's or gals who live in Iowa can tell me either way.

Thanks in advance!!!!

Some internet reviews suggest that they are open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Poor marketing on their part to not have a recorded message on their phone, and the fricken business hours on their web page!!! Good luck, report back with your findings soldier. Nearby bar in the historic hotel might also be worth visiting if your into 1800's river-town architecture.

So I made it up to the brewery, and I've found out that it's opened from 3pm - ? Wednesday through Saturday; however, I don't suggest anyone go to eat or drink. Their beer was either watery with no flavor or bad and/or off flavored. My friend and I each got an appetizer and a sampler of seven beers, literally no food or beer was good. Also, FYI, an Iowa beer/wine brochure in their store said they were a DME Brewery. I made extract beer for 10 years, and I would have been disappointed with any results that tasted like what they served.
