How long can a smack pack be swollen?

I was planning on Brewing last Saturday so I smacked a smack pack of Wyeast 1968. However, I couldn't get around to brewing. Should I still be able to use the smack pack if its been sitting at about 65 degrees swollen in the smack pack for 7 days? I can go buy another but would perfer not to.

Make a starter with it, you should be fine!!

I've never heard of a problem but I wonder if the pressure on the yeast for a whole week stresses them. Kind of like the hydrostatic pressure argument in tall cylindroconical fermenters. I'd definitely go with the starter just to make sure they had a chance to rebound.

I think you might be better off storing your swollen pack in the fridge until you are ready to brew with it. And yes I would make a starter as well.
