Sounds like a big backpedal by the FDA.

Probably scared shitless of a bunch of pissed, and pissed off, aussies who would run riot if they coudn't get their daily dose of the goodness that is vegemite. Hell I know I'd be bloody pissed if I couldn't get it either.

Every time I travelled to the US I always took a stash for myself as well as orders for all the expats there.

With all the articles online citing the same newspaper article in Aussieland, and no confirming articles elsewhere on the net it didn't pass the smell test to me. I had a gut feeling an article like this would be published when a reporter actually called the FDA.
