Mash going on an American Pale Ale. Using my new tiered system - happy days for my back! Hit my mash temp and pH right on the nose.

Minus 20° wind chill and blowing snow. Day for heavy drinking, not brewing.

Finished up Jamils Scottish 70 late last night while enjoying some Makers Mark with a good friend who isn't into craft beer or brewing, yet. Has anybody brewed this one up? It says it will improve after a few months. There's no way it will last that long.

I brewed a scottish 80/- a few months back based on that recipe. Damned good stuff. Made the mistake of taking it to a beer festival. The keg emptied in less that an hour. All of our other beers had plenty left at the end of the night.

Just finished up a Baltic Porter. First time using a pump and a Jamil style chiller. Wow, I was really missing out. I was able to cool my wort to 45 in no time.
On Tap

Making my 1999 SN Celebration Ale today. http://beerdujour.com/Recipes/SN_Celebration_Ale_-2008_NHC_3rd_Place_2nd_round.html

FWIW, I cool 11.5 gallons in 20 minutes with a plate chiller.
