Just finished up a Spotted Cow clone for Learn to Homebrew Day.

I called it Caillette, that's cajun french for spotted cow.

I can't wait to see how it comes out.

I'm currently brewing two 5 gallon batches of ordinary bitter. I'm doing a water experiment. One batch purely RO water, the 2nd batch is my tap water with acid adds to bring the pH down. I'm trying to see if my house water is acceptable for brewing. I chose the low gravity bitter so I could expose the water, not cover it up with hops or caramel malts.

It's 6 PM on a saturday night, I raked up the remainder of the leaves, put my winter tires on, changed the oil and cleaned the gutters. No plans for tonight, so it actually seems like a good idea to squeeze in a German Pilsener brew session. Water is boiling, and time to grind some grain. Wonder how I'll feel about that decision when midnight rolls around!

Yesterday I stopped by the LHBS to pick up the bag of grain I ordered a couple weeks ago. Found it won't be here until Monday or Tuesday. I was all set to brew this weekend so I am doing another batch of cider since the last batch is disappearing way too fast.
