Looking for a beer-centric vacation spot

My 40th is coming up at the end of October and wife and I want to take a weekend away...somewhere.

I want to go to Delaware to see DFH, but I really can't seem to wrap my head around Delaware and seemingly nothing else really to do there....So I'm throwing around Denver, Miami.

So I look to you all for some ideas on a good city/state to hit that is both entertaining and craft-brew heavy.

Where are you located? For a weekend, do you care how far away. SF, Denver, Portland, OR all come to mind.

I'm on Chicago and leaning towards Denver in our research.

Both cities easy to navigate without renting a car and good public transportation for pub crawling.

Denver's a good spot. Not only are there a lot of great brewpubs, just up the road is Fort Collins. Just up into the mountains to the west is Tommyknocker (more if you want to drive a couple more hours). I'm hoping to go back sometime next year.

Chicago has direct flights to both Denver and PDX. Would still be good to rent a car is you choose the west coast. Lots of good breweries wihtine 2 hours. Newport to Hood River. Great scenery as well.

+1 to Denver. Left my heart there during GABF... and a piece of my liver. It was evil though and needed to be left behind.
