I happened to be on the BOS panel and the liquid poets did pretty much the same thing as our comp (Indian Peaks Alers Peak to Peak Pro-Am)
Step 1) BJCP judges and pro brewers select the overall contest BOS beer/runner up
Step 2) Pro brewers/brewery representatives select a beer that they like / believe they can scale up / fits their existing lineup / think will do well as a pro-Am entry.

No scoring or BOS weighting was given to the Pro-Am selection, it was just up to the brewers to pick one they wanted. However, all that were picked were on the BOS table and thus earned a gold medal

We have tickets.... however, we might have to sell at least one. Got some good news/bad news yesterday! Bad News..... Retirement just got pushed back quite a bit  Good news.... Looks like I have a designated driver for the next nine months and a assistant brewer on the way! :jnj
