Don't dump back into a bucket, you will oxidize. Don't use a liquid solution unless you are prepared with some sort of pipette for accurate measurement. I would use the carb tabs. I did this same thing, used a little funnel, and put dry sugar in. The only infection I have gotten to date. The liquid solution will be much more difficult to measure than carb tabs IMO.

Fermenting: A.Bastard Clone, Wee Heavy, S/70, Eng. Barleywine

Get the carb tabs. It is the easiest solution.
