Leatherlips IPA

Wed Dec 16, 2009 7:44 pm

I'm a newb at homebrewing, with 1 Christmas Ale in the priming stage, and a BB Robust Porter in primary ferm stage. I really want to make an IPA next, and am either thinking of going the West Coast style (hop bomb with intense aroma and flavor - not an IIPA though) or some form of a Leatherlips style. Has anyone ever cloned Leatherlips? (from The Tap in Haverhill, MA)

Thanks

Finding a clone for such an isolated local beer can be tough.
I did however see note in Beer Advocate that mentions Centenial, Nugget and Chinook hops.
That is a good starting point.
Try using some brewing software to start formulating a recipe. If you do not have it, you can always try the one that is on Brew Masters Warehouse (one of The BN's sponsors)
Keep Googling for it or even try emailing the Brewery, you might be surprised at how helpfull they may be.
Good luck.
