Bay Area Beer Events?

Mon Nov 16, 2009 9:51 am

My wife and I are flying into San Francisco on Thursday (11/19) and staying until Thanksgiving. Any events I shouldn't miss during the coming week?

21st Amendment and Magnolia have the month long BRU/SFO event. which is 12 Belgium style beers released during November. so far it's been very tasty. but good news for you is that nothing has run out... yet. it looks like the only thing you will miss is the Baby Horse which we're all very excited about not just because it's a Quad but it's also tribute beer to the greatest air band ever fronted by Jamie and Jack. here's all the links and an interview with the brewers about the project.

if you're inclined to travel or not travel Motor and I are doing the first ever documented "Toronado to Toronado" run. that is, we hit Toronado in San Diego when it opens then later in the day fly back to San Francisco to close Toronado there. here's the details for that.

City Beer Store has "events" during week. Wednesday and Thursday are the days when "special things" are on tap. also this week at Toronado is the release party for Deschutes Abyss. that starts at 6PM and rolls until they close. beer runs out on these special nights so get there earlier.

This looks like a winner! And I was just sitting here listening to The Jamil Show about Belgian Blonde and Belgian Dubbel, thinking I'd love to have some Belgian beers. Should be worth a few days wait!
