Smoked Beer Styles

Wed Oct 14, 2009 7:31 am

A couple years ago I had a Smoked Dunkelweizen and thought it was pretty good. Aside from the usual styles that have a smoke/smokey character ( i.e. Smoked Porter or Scotch Ale ), what other styles have you guys smoked and how did it turn out?

I'm thinking of doing a smoked beer soon, but already have a Vanilla Porter so I'm not sure I want to have another porter quite yet?

Thanks.

I have had a couple nice smoked bocks in the last few months. Just a hint of smoke, nothing that shouts SMOKED BEER at you. Just a nice background note.
