Here I am just past midnight. Finished a bomber of Breckenridge Small Batch 471 IPA a little while ago. I feel I need to add a little more explanation to that.
A couple hours ago I headed a couple miles out into the country to the camp where I work. On top of the highest hill I set up my oversized comfy sling chair to watch the Perseid meteor show. Great show. Nice warm summer evening with just enough breeze to keep the bugs at bay. Paired the IPA with a 1990 Vintage Rocky Patel lonsdale cigar. Watched the meteors and listened to the cacophony of insects. As the moon rose I could then watch the herd of deer grazing in the alfalfa around me A family of skunks strolled past my chair, hardly giving me a second look (thankfully!) as the bats swooped past catching what few bugs were flying about. As I left there were even a couple of deer bedded down right next to my jeep.
All in all this has been a wonderful evening. Life is good.
