I haven't made it up to Beaverton recently but the local homebrew shop has begun to carry Belgian style sour beers from Cascade Brewing. They are the brewing portion of a brew pub called Raccoon Lodge in Beaverton. I can vouch for their Cascade Kreik and Cuvee du Jongleur. Both are very good examples of "West Coast" Flanders style ales. I am slowly working my way thought all their Belgian style brews. I hope they have a booth at the Fest!

Cascade Kreik Ale
A Belgian Flanders Style Red Ale refermented with a sweet blend of fresh whole Northwest cherries. This beer spent more than six months of lactic fermentation and aging in small French oak wine barrels before being hand-bottled. 6.6% ABV

Cuvee du Jongleur
A careful blending of select barrels of Flanders Reds and soured Belgian Triples aged in oak for up to 18 months. Then blended with fresh 25° Plato Blond Quadruppel. Hand-bottled, corked and then aged allowing lactic fermentation. 8.41% ABV
PFC BN Army - Tactical Hop Command
Fermenting - Kolsch, Blonde Ale
Kegged: Flanders Brown
Aging: Brown Lambic, Chocolate Porter
President and Chief Bottle Washer - HopRunner Brewing

Take the Tri-Met light rail into Portland. About a 15 minute ride from Beaverton. You can then walk to a bunch downtown, including Ringler's (A McMenimin's pub) Deschutes, Bridgeport and a bunch other. Widmer is right on the light rail on the other side of the river from downtown.

Found out today that I'm heading to San Diego for work next month.
The good thing is the weekend I arrive it is OBF.
So planning on getting a flight from LA to be on the ground at OBF early Sat arvo.
Backup for Sunday, then the red-eye to San Diego for work on Monday.

Any tips on where to stay in Portland for OBF ?

I like the Vintage Plaza. In general, the big hotels downtown are close to the fest and the Pearl, where so much of the fun is. Edgefield is great, but for a two-day trip, it's far out from everything.

I got a place at the Marriot a couple blocks away from the park right along the river there. Stayed there last year too. Its a little spendy but we have a bunch of people staying together so we all split the cost, so it wasn't bad at all.
