Sam Adams LongShot Results?

Wed Jun 10, 2009 9:54 am

Anyone have any idea when they plan on annoucing the regional winners of the 2009 LongShot comp? I thought the judging of the last region was last week, but it has been very silent about when things might get posted.

Anyone have a clue?

Jay Brooks and the Alstrom brothers are both on the final tasting panel and currently judging and Tweeting about what is going on.

They say the final four are

American Barleywine
Old Ale
Maibock
and Lambic
Asshat of the Year (2006)
Maltose Falcons
Crown of the Valley

Dang, my fruit beer didn't make it then. Guess I'll have to keep my Tasty shrine up until next year. Good luck and cheers to those who made the cut!

i saw the pictures on twitter...a straight lambic with carbonation? how does a carbonated straight lambic make it to any kind of a final round where the BJCP guidelines are used? I am sure that it is a great tasting beer, but personal opinions are to be left out of judging.
