I live in SF and plan on possibly taking bart to the party. I will take a bart trip to linden either this weekend or the next for a club meeting and will see how the walk goes. Its a not a "city walk" really since its all industrial so the .7 miles from the bart may seem forever. If all is ok I wouldn't mind meeting at bart stop and walking over with a few BN'ers.

I will report back.

There you go messing me up by giving me a total. Let's see at $10 a gallon wholesale/$40 a gallon retail.....that's.........never mind.

I love to share beer and this will be the biggest beer sharing week ever so I'm going for it. Just tell me you like it even if you don't.

Might be better off asking what parts of Oakland are safe at night.

I worked as a paramedic in Oakland for several years. There is literally murders in downtown almost every night. Roberies, shootings and violent crime is rampant. The city is a (s)hit hole. The homebrew confrence is lousy place to be after dark. As a paramedic, I responded to multiple violent crimes in the downtown area every night.
The recent shooting of a dirtbag on BART, by the BART cops has the locals on edge and there are protest on a weekly basis. In my opinion, it was a big mistake to have any event in Oakland. Taking BART, or walking just a few blocks anytime after dark is just plain stupid.
I don't intend to rain on anybodies parade, but you need to fully aware that Oakland is not a safe city. If you look like an outsider, you are a target.

Hey Caly, I started out my career in Napa then worked in Oakland for two years back in the late 70's. Good to know NOTHING has changed over the years. I've often wondered why Linden St Brewery opened it's doors there. It may be west Oakland, but it's still Oakland.
