New Control Panel

Thu Jun 15, 2006 9:15 pm

I've been workin' on a control panel for my system for quite a while and finally found some time to get off my incredibly sweet (so JP says) ass and finish the front.

Still have to build its housing and mount it to my stand, but here it is stuffed and lit up (this is not a state it will ever be in once implemented -- just wanted to test all the indicator lamps).

I'd like to see your schematics. What purpose does the AC Voltage meter play? Did you use a 555 timer for the time remaining panel? The HLT and mash tun panels are sweet. Are they PIC progammed. How are you gonna integrate your thermometers into these PIC panels?

The face plate looks powder coated. Nice job on the counter-sunk mount holes. How did you impose the controls labeling?

The pump on led seems redundant with the ledded power switch.

Please tell more as I wish to design a similar unit.

Fluff.

I modified a kit from here: http://www.canakit.net/Contents/Items/CK247.asp

Just on/off Love TS controls (Cole Parmer.com)

They feed into thermowells in the HLT and Mash Tun through XLR connectors

Actually it's 12 guage aluminum with a coat of primer, 2 coats of flat black, silk-screened lettering and 5 coats of satin polycrylic clear coat.

It is. Fluff it up some more.

Shit-Howdy! Me too!

I'm being hammered for a how-to. When I finish documenting it I will post it here.

Brew it and then
