A cup measures volume, a gram measures weight... but

United States customary cup
United States customary cup is defined as half a U.S. pint.
1 U.S. customary cup = 0.5 U.S. customary pints
= 2 U.S. customary gills
= 8 U.S. customary fluid ounces
= 16 U.S. customary tablespoons
= 236.5882365 millilitres ≈ 237 ml
≈ 15⅔ international tablespoons [5]
≈ 11¾ Australian tablespoons
≈ 0.8327 imperial cups
≈ 8.3267 imperial fluid ounces

United States "legal" cup
The cup currently used in the United States for nutrition labelling is defined in United States law as 240 ml.[6][7][8]
1 U.S. "legal" cup = 240 millilitres
= 16 international tablespoons
= 12 Australian tablespoons
≈ 8.1154 U.S. customary fluid ounces
≈ 8.4468 imperial fluid ounces

Granulated sugar is estimated to be 190g per cup, wheat flour is 120-140

So I will need to buy a scale then I am guessing. I ended up using just shy of 3 cups but the beer does not seem to be as active as my previous brews ... three days in the firmenter and not bubbling anymore, very little krausen on the top. Can I add some sugar, or yeast? What do all of you suggest?

One cup (8oz) of table sugar (granulated sugar) is 200g (Ref)

One cup (8oz) of corn starch is 226g (Ref)

So, 500g of Corn Sugar is 17.7oz or 2.2 cups.

Hope this helps.
