Bottle Bomb

Fri Jun 09, 2006 8:01 am

This will eventually be moved to Krotchrott's site but I am to lazy to do it right now...
This is some infected beer my buddy made... note his pitiful sense of humor by re-labeling it with magic marker... hahaha... Please note I have NEVER had a gusher... really foamy yes but no gushers yet.

Nice video. I've had that experience before. Not pleasant. Actually, I had some that I'm sure were inches from being bottle bombs. Had it actually shoot the bottlecap up to the ceiling and paint everything stout.

Last time i drank beer with Bub, he served me brews with the very SAME label on it.

I think his "friend " was a lot closer to home than he let on.

Unfortunately I had that experience once. Not the piddly ass foamover like in the video, but one that took 2 days to get it off the walls and ceiling! :eek

That was my first brewing attempt back in the summer of 1972. Used a can of Blue Ribbon Malt and Red Star bread yeast. Thought at the time that just washing the bottles with the rest of the dishes was sanitation enough, right?

After that disaster I went back to making wine and didn't mess with brewing beer again for 30 years.

my very first batch of all grain was liuke that purely due to over priming, but, pouring straight into a large jug and letting it settle it was a fantastic beer.
