Seeking a hoppy American Amber Recipe

Hey all,

Thanks for the valuable input. I'm going to err on the side of caution and use a starter on your advice. As for the coloring, I've already dropped a pretty penny on the extracts so I'm going to stick with them. I did get a slightly darker malt than what is in the recipe so I'm hoping that will help with the color too. I saw some other recipes where people where using small amounts of roasted or black patent to color, but I just couldn't justify spending any more money than what I already have to just get a pinch of barley for color. I need to do some homework now on making a starter since this will be a first for me.

Upon reccomendation from Wyeast, I did a half gallon starter that was added to another half gallon after it settled to give me a gallon. It went well and the airlock was blown off of the fermenter within 4 hours. Thanks for the advice, I'll let you all know how the brew comes out.
