I agree, maybe I'll shoot Shat an email, I doubt he'll see the suggestion here.

Just place my order for Cascade. First time trying to grow hops. Now if all the F$%#^ snow would melt, I could get the ground started.

If I don't get much of a harvest the first year, that's ok. It will be fun listening to the neighbors talk about me growing weed in plain site :D

You already have the FreshHops link so here is the Oregon Trail Brewery link.

If you are going to talk with Shat could you also send him a link to the other brewery in town? Block 15 is the "young upstart" brew on location, brew pub in town. Also really nice people. They do lots of Belgian Style beers...Just sayin'.. I'd love to hear them interviewed. I gather they have a pretty interesting start-up story. The assistant brewer, who's name I just blanked on, seems to interact with the public the most.

Well, I figured I'm covered either way in case one doesn't grow.

I'm sure instructions will come with the order, but just in case when I received the rhizomes, should I put them in ziplock bags with a little moisture and put them in the fridge until planting time?

you really gotta be careful doing that cause the rhizomes can mold quite easily.

Hey Badrock,
I'm going to grow hops this year for the first time. I live in N. Utah and my climate is pretty similar to that of Denver. What hops have you had success growing in your region? I'm looking to grow eight bines and would like them to all be successful.

Brewers Gold, Cascade, Chinook, Fuggle, Crystal are the plants I have currently. I have two Cascade and Fuggle plants. I have tried Centennial for three years now without success. The Cascade, Chinook and Fuggle have done the best. But honestly none have done bad.
