I am going to be laughing my balls off if you all get sent a stir bar retriever. Do they refund shipping, most places dont, so your shipping costs are going to be higher than your product costs. Serves you right for being exxtra cheap when you can buy a stir plate on ebay for as little as $40.[/quote]

Amen Push. I didn't jump in on the purchase, but I wouldn't be rubbing it into the brewers who were trying to save a buck because at heart we brewers are all a bunch cheap bastards.

Oh well.... See Below
-------------------
Hello Brian,

Searching for the term “Laboratory Magnetic Stirrer” on in our store returns 3 matches…1 is the actual stirrer, priced at $169.95, and the other two are accessories to the stirrer. There was a mistake listing these products, in that all 3 seem to have the same description and image. Unfortunately, the manufacturer is not willing to sell a product valued at almost $170 for only $9.

We have issued a full and immediate refund to your credit card in the amount of $35.35. Please feel free to keep the stir bars, free of charge. Or, if you have no use for them, you may simply refuse delivery and the package will be returned to the warehouse, or you can donate them to a local charity or school.

We truly apologize for the confusion. Please let us know if there is anything more we can do to help.

Have a wonderful weekend!

I wont be home to refuse delivery and think that these folks have heard enough shit from this incident. I am just gunna chalk this one up for not falling for the "too good to be true" category and keep whatever it is that I am getting. Thanks Bub!

Not a bad price. Anyone have good plans for building a stirplate. I've looked at some, but they use none-US components and I'm not sure what the US equivalents would be.

I'm looking to make one of Eric's stirplates. Only problem is I'm not exactly sure how to separate the harddrive magnet from the small frame it sits on. Anyone else been successful with that? Can't tell if it's glued on or just held in place by magnetism. So far, banging on it with a screw driver isn't working.
