I brew on the stove by splitting my wort into 2 pots (4 gal and 2 gal) and using two burners. You need to be attentive though because in order to do a full volume boil (5.5-6gallons), both pots will be nearly full leaving no room for boil-over. Additionally, make sure you evenly distribute the runnings between the two pots, or your hop utilization will get screwy.
