It's always a bit rough when you let the dykes cut the tube...

It will be easier in California when Prop 8 is defeated.

Corny humor notwithstanding, I would recommend a cleaner approach, like using a tubing cutter.

...or you could hire a mohel.

Normally I do, but this was an angled cut. Next time I make one of these I'll use the hacksaw for a cleaner cut.

I also used the tubing cutter to make some notches on a scrap piece of copper and this is my measuring gauge to tell me how many gallons I have in the kettle - I added a little loop of wire and can hang it on the kettle handle to keep it close by and clean.

Ok, I realize that you're not actually talking about your penis here... but I'm having sympathy pains just reading where this thread is going...

Awesome news. I have 29 batches under my belt and still get giddy when activity starts and the krausen forms and no matter how long it ferments for, I get a little concerend when the activity starts to slow down. The best is when you take your first gravity reading.
I still check the carboys in the morning, when I get home from work and before bed.
I am a happily married, but I am not sure my wife can say the same.
Keep us posted and great job.
Cheers.

I'm no longer a virgin - your B3 American Amber Ale extract kit was my brew and I did it today.

It's been a long time since I could take credit as someones first but if my memory serves me right, it was much more awkward than this. :? Looks like the brew went pretty smooth. That new CampChef burner looks nice. Those are the heart of my single level three vessel brewery.

B3 has been selling that kit forever. I'm fairly sure it's a little different than what I now make. I've backed off on the IBUs to get it back in style. Can't say that I liked it better hoppier but I almost always have a hop bomb around here to take care of any hop cravings.

It's my house beer and pretty much have it all the time. When I start to run low, I make some more. (What's not to love about this hobby.) I rarely share it (which sounds insignificant but 80% of what I make gets consumed elsewhere). Looks like a very local brewery might be making the recipe next year.

Here's what I posted on the forum in January and I'm currently pouring:

Anticipated OG: 1.056
Anticipated SRM: 12.9
Anticipated IBU: 29.2

22.00 lbs. Pale Malt(2-row)
3.00 lbs. Cara-Pils Dextrine Malt
3.00 lbs. Crystal 40L
1.00 lbs. Wheat Malt
0.25 lbs. Roasted Barley

1.00 oz. Northern Brewer Mash Hop
1.00 oz. Northern Brewer 30 min.
1.00 oz. Northern Brewer 15 min.
1.00 oz. Cascade 15 min.
1.00 oz. Cascade 5 min.
4.00 oz. Cascade 1 min.
4.00 oz. Centennial Dry Hop

I have to give Tasty some props too.

I brewed his American Brown from Brewing Classic Styles and tried to give credit where credit is due when I entered it in Commander Saaz as "Tasty's BCS Brown Ale." Ended up with a nice little silver medal to hang on the wall!

Sorry, it was not my first, but you know it will always be my favorite :)
