Actually, the H2O2 and vinegar soak will only dissolve surface lead, but that is all you really need anyway. And you want to remove the parts BEFORE the solution turns blue/green. It only takes a couple of minutes. If you keep them in too long, you will actually start to pit the surface of the brass and form nasty black spots.

Homegrown Hops - that looks like a stainless bulkhead on your mash tun. Is it? Where did you get it? Can I see more pics of that part of the mash tun? I'm very interested.

TNSailor, I got the full port ball valve and stainless hardware (couplings, nipple) from BFO http://www.buyfittingsonline.com/Fittings/index.htm
When I made the purchases they were the best deal on the net. It looks as though they arent as much of a steal as they were.
