Hit the Brickskeller last night with Sully and Steff. Here's some of the damage. We were kind of on a sour roll plus Sully had to do a "canned beer" taste off.

that's right, cans.....

Think there's a chance that we'd be able to buy some beers from direct from the tables during the fest? I doubt it, but I've been known to be wrong before.

As for Brickskeller and RFD, I've now been hearing that we should avoid those places as they are over-hyped and not as good as advertised. What did you think of it last night?

Crowded, hot and out of lots of stuff ... I think this may be de rigeur for a weekend night with a bunch of brewers in town!

Capitol City was pretty good though ... just another option.

"out of lots of stuff"....that's pretty much what I had been hearing about Brickskeller and RFD. We may just go anyway to cross it off the list, but I'm not as excited about it as I had been.

I know we are going to hit up Gordon Biersch as I've never had their brews, and probably Capital City as well. Whether that's between Saturday sessions, after the late one, or for lunch on Sunday, we don't know yet.

Any recommendations?

I'm sitting at Gordon Biersch right now "preparing" for the early session on Saturday. Almost empty right now and I'm sure it will get crowded later but you NEED to stop off here for sure. I may head back here later.

Viper, it was nice to meet you last night and next time wear your kilt too!

Sully, you truly are a gentleman. Thanks for giving me some beer in the can and damn you, my wife really liked the watermelon wheat. Now she wants me to brew it. This says something because she hates beer and went mainly for the food but really enjoyed your watermelon wheat. I had a great time talking with you and it was awesome to put a face with the name. Now I hope your tasty crack cans can make it into Maryland one of these years...

Stefanie, it was a pleasure to meet you and thanks for pouring my beers. I also hope you can follow through with JP for me...

To those of you who were not able to make it I was really impressed with the selection of beers and the quality of food. If this type of event happens again, I plan to attend.

Prost!!

SAVOR...what can you say other than it was a great experience. The lineup of beers was incredible. The food was great, and it was great being able to see, meet and talk with so many "famous" people face to face.

The most famous of course being Steph and Sully. It was certainly a treat to finally be able to sample some Watermelon Wheat, and talk to you two. I'll send you guys some info on Egypt after I'm fully recovered. Thanks for hooking us up with cans too. And Steph...I hope you survived the NASA museum.
