I love talking beer with that guy. He comes to Sonoma and will deliver us kegs if we need.

I have always appreciated that guy. Although he does brew to style from time to time. i.e. his American i.p.a. is on the best around the area. Only on draft. I never miss it when it on tap at our local establishment.

Even his Pilsner is to style, though he may not say so.

J.Brew, I know you know how great Brian's beers are. Well, maybe you do. I don't know.

My point about unconventional is similar to my feelings about "complexity".
More and more I go to brew pubs around the west coast. Some good, some just ok. But one thing seems to be coming up more and more. "Complexity".

Now I know that many beers are complex. However that term seems to get thrown around a little bit too much. When the beer is really sub par (I am being kind) the server refers to it as "complex".

IT IS NOT COMPLEX! IT IS JUST BAD!

I am getting sick of it!!! Ok, Ok I am calm now.

Complexity or unconventional is fine when the beer is good. But lately I have found that it is NOT GOOD. Hence....my frustration. This topic just brought it out in me.

Much Love To All.
